Details
The Richmond Fellowship Society (RFS) is an international organisation founded in 1959 by Elly Jansen, a theology student from Holland. The community mental health facilities of RFS span across the world from Australia and New Zealand to Austria, France, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Japan, Hong Kong, the Caribbean, Malta, Canada and the Americas.
Apart from care home facilities, RFS Delhi also runs mental health awareness and advocacy programmes.
In their own words:
The growing need for psychosocial rehabilitation of the people suffering from mental illness and lack of such services in the northern part of the country motivated the Richmond Fellowship Society (India) to start a half way home and a day care centre in the National Capital region. The facility is custom built for mental health care and is located approximately 30 km from Delhi.
